And you're pretty handy, but thinking everything out, designing and cutting it to size... That becomes a bit too much.
Not to worry, we have done it all for you.
Just order one of our kits for a trough planter and all you have to do is assemble it.
Screw in a few screws, and the job's done, how easy can it be ?
Every garden is different, your trough planter can be different too
And because things are always different, we have developed a modular trough planter system.
Your large trough planter can consist of 1 to 9 modules.
Even larger, when you decide to connect several trough planters.
With a number of standard parts that we have already cut to size for you, you can make trough planters exactly as you want them.
Almost all shapes are possible. All parts are also available separately so that you can think up and make even more shapes.
Below are a number of shapes for which we have made standard kits. This makes it easy to choose your wooden trough planter.
Please note; the dotted lines on the drawing are not planter walls. The lines only indicate the modular shape and show how you can leave out various parts. So there is no wood there shall we say.
Our garden trough kits only include the complete outer edge of the planter. Would you still like the trough planter to be divided into several sections? You can, but then you will need a lot of wood and posts. And cross posts we do not supply as standard. In this case, please contact our customer service team.

In which heights can the wooden trough planter be delivered?
We have developped our building kits for wooden trough planters for the following standard heights:
- 2 shelves high, including capping rail = 29cm
- 3 shelves high, including capping rail = 40cm
- 4 shelves high, including capping rail = 53cm
- 5 shelves high, including capping rail = 65cm
- 6 shelves high, including capping rail = 78cm
But we can make the garden troughs as high as you want. Although higher plant troughs would require additional cross connections. The more soil in the garden trough, the heavier this presses against the outer wall of the garden trough. The wall might break loose as a result.
It is easier to work with levels in stages. For example, you can place a very large garden trough first. Fill it with soil. Then you can place another smaller garden trough on top of it.

You can create even larger wooden trough planters in the garden by connecting several modules together.
This creates hundreds of additional possibilities as you can see in the examples below.
To prevent the walls of the large trough planter from sagging outwards due to the weight of the soil, it is important to connect the posts in the trough planter.
To make the connection between module 3 and 11, you can use 2 T-posts. You do then screw 2 intermediate boards between the 2 posts so that the earth cannot push them apart. A cappin rail is then not necessary. The 2 shelves per cross connection in the trough planter are screwed UNDER the surface of the soil. Rake the earth over it so that you don't see any of the cross boards.
There are too many possibilities to make standard kits.

Compose your own wooden trough planter
Although our construction kits already include dozens of variants of garden troughs, hundreds of variations are possible.
For instance, you can vary with different heights. You could also make a garden trough against a slope upwards or downwards.
The possibilities are endless and I'm sure you will come up with a trough planter that we haven't thought of yet....
To make sure you can customise your trough planter to suit your needs, Vinuovo also allows you to buy all parts for trough planters separately.
There are 2 options, which you can also combine, of course:
- You can order whole posts and planks and enjoy measuring and sawing them yourself to make your trough planter.
- Or you can buy pre-sawn parts for your wooden trough planter that we have already cut to size for you.
Then you don't have to cut everything to size and mitre, you just have to screw it together.
